So what do you do with the century-old floor beams you pull from buildings located all over the borough of Brooklyn? You could do what most contractors do and throw them away, I suppose, or you could do what we've been doing since the day we started -- reclaim them, mill them down and give them a second life.
In this case that reclaimed wood has become a credenza, we lay complimentary pieces over a cabinet-grade birch frame and then add the sliding glass doors. There are handmade hairpin legs or steel casters underneath, we finish the wood with poly and hand-rubbed beeswax while the steel gets a clear-coat to protect against future rusting. Interior shelves are adjustable, there are holes drilled at the back of each compartment to allow for cord access, credenzas measuring 60" and larger will have a center shelf bay. If you plan to use electronics in this piece, let us know where you would like cable-pass holes to be drilled. We can recommend locations if you're unsure.
We're a built-to-order fabrication shop so message us if you want this piece to be modified -- bigger, smaller, different base.... whatever you need, we can make it happen. All items are handmade at the time of purchase, due to overwhelming demand we ask for 10-12 weeks lead time (rush orders available for an upcharge). You can pick-up from our workshop or you can choose delivery to NYC for $50-100 depending on location, message us your zip code for an accurate shipping quote. Due to overwhelming inquires, please allow 24-48 hours for a response.
